The Manager, Global Sustainability works with the Director, Global Sustainability and key internal functions to facilitate the implementation and continuous refinement of Tiffany’s global Sustainability strategy and commitments. The Manager will lead cross-functional task forces on various initiatives across social and environmental issue areas and will help facilitate the broader implementation process, including regular liaison with key management and teams. The Manager will also track progress towards the Company’s commitments and will support the Global Sustainability & Philanthropy team as a generalist on special projects and initiatives. The Manager reports to the Director, Global Sustainability.


Sustainability Strategy & Implementation:

  • Drive the Company’s work on materiality, ensuring issue areas are prioritized in line with the Company’s strategy and stakeholder requirements
  • Facilitate implementation of the Company’s global Sustainability strategy across social and environmental issue areas, including:
    • Prepare, coordinate and lead multiple cross-functional task forces working concurrently across numerous business areas of the Company globally
    • Translate commitments into implementation plans and develop tools and training materials for each business area
    • Assess and make the business case for various initiatives on an ongoing basis
    • Develop processes and systems to further embed Sustainability in key decision-making processes and facilitate their adoption throughout the Company
  • Develop and execute on the Company’s approach to evaluating the Sustainability impacts of innovations and new ideas that are actively identified or brought to us through internal teams and external partnerships, including:
    • Design a cross-functional process that ensures innovations and new ideas are assessed consistently for their Sustainability impacts and evolve the Company’s current assessment framework
    • Liaise with business areas across the Company and perform assessments as innovations and new ideas are identified
    • Manage the department’s partnership with the Jewelry Design & Innovation Workshop
  • Drive and help facilitate the internal liaison and engagement on the implementation of the Sustainability strategy across all levels of the Company, including:
    • Prepare regular executive and leadership meetings
    • Establish and support the facilitation of a Sustainability Leadership Committee with VP leaders from business areas across the Company
    • Develop and execute on an approach for timely and regular updates on progress with employees throughout the Company globally
  • Develop mechanisms for assessing impacts and support internal reporting on progress toward the Sustainability strategy to ensure milestones are met and countermeasures are adopted early as needed, in partnership with the Manager, Sustainability Reporting
  • Monitor and evaluate trends, competitive activities and constantly evolving market requirements with regards to Sustainability, assess relevance for Tiffany and translate into need for strategic action to ensure continued Sustainability leadership
  • Take on other work of the Sustainability & Philanthropy department as well as special projects and timely issues as needed

Strategic Partnerships and Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Work in close partnership with the Global Sustainability & Philanthropy Team and key internal functions such as Design, the Jewelry Design & Innovation Workshop, Merchandising, Responsible Sourcing, Procurement, Manufacturing, Finance and Legal
  • Perform research to identify opportunities to establish and/or participate in joint industry and cross-sectoral initiatives that help the Company achieve its Sustainability commitments and advance key issue areas in the industry and beyond
  • Drive key partnerships and engagements with external partners that support execution of the Company’s Sustainability commitments across various social and environmental issue areas, serving as the Company’s point person


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, sustainability or related subject area
  • At least 5-7 years of relevant professional experience from a sustainability or similar role in the private sector, an NGO working with business, or a top-tier consulting firm
  • Proven experience to execute on a private sector organization’s sustainability strategy
  • Proven ability to independently manage complex projects with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent grasp of sustainability concepts as well as emerging trends and concepts
  • Familiarity with academic, government and NGOs active in the sustainability space
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, can synthesize information and offer recommendations/solutions
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills for interaction with key leadership functions
  • Takes initiative and demonstrates ownership, works independently
  • Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills
  • Fluent in both written and conversational English
  • Microsoft office skills are critical
  • Team player

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree
  • Experience working in a luxury or other retail company with high-profile consumer brands
