The temporary Operations Assistant receives shipments of diamonds into the Operations area according to established procedures. This position performs the physical verification of all production Diamonds into the division and the necessary systematic transfers of such goods into the Tiffany Gemological Laboratory.
Perform the detailed systematic receipt/ transfer of all production diamonds using the J.D. Edwards system. Attach barcode labels to the individual envelopes according to Chain of Diamond Custody (CODC) guidelines. Verify number of stones against memo/ transfer sheet to ensure accuracy. Confirm accuracy of total receipt value if applicable.
Perform Laurelton polished reclassification, support cycle counting as well as move to stock functions. Ensure accuracy before moving diamond into the next phase according to the established CODC guidelines.
Provide assistance in advancing memos in various areas of the Operations Department. Provide clerical support to the staff of the Operations Department to accelerate processing of backlogs.
As requested by Management, assist with various projects and tasks associated with the Pelham Diamond Division. This includes providing support to Shipping area to receive and ship packages. The process includes checking deliveries and signing for merchandise according to procedure; pass packages to respective areas via log to ensure accountability of incoming/outgoing assets.

An undergraduate degree, experience with JD Edwards and knowledge of the Diamond Industry is preferred.
